Chicago, Chicago is ~ a place I LOVE to visit
A couple of weekends ago I was in Chicago and unfortunately spent almost all my time in hotel rooms and restaurants. I got to see very little of Carl Sandburg’s City of the Big Shoulders. So I’ll share some pictures taken from the Navy Pier on a previous visit.
Sadly one of my favorite places to go in Chicago no longer exists. The Smith Museum of Stained Glass on the Navy Pier closed in 2014 to make way for new retail space. Here’s one of the outstanding examples of stained glass art.

Of course no visit to Chicago would be complete without a few sky scrapers. Fortunately, the Navy Pier is a great place to snap pictures of the city-scape. We’ll start with the iconic Sears Tower looking back from the west side of the pier.
Then follow up with the skyline looking back from the east side of the pier,
Oh and by the way buildings aren’t the only things scraping the sky near the pier. Take a look at the masts on this tall ship.
There are thousands of sights to see and things to do in Chicago. The Navy Pier has some of the best of them.
