In Memoriam

Morton Mosely 'Pete' Charnley

A member of the ‘greatest generation‘ has left us. On Tuesday evening, March 6, 2012, my father-in-law  passed away. He served as a signalman with the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during WWII. He returned home, pursued his degree in Mechanical Engineering, married the love of his life, worked 20+ years for SteelCase Corp. and built a wonderful family. I have so much to thank him for, not the least of which is my husband and sweetheart of 36 years. Dad was rock solid, a pillar of the community, a deacon of his church and a dedicated tenor in the church choir. The kids in his neighborhood use to call him the ‘wizard’ because of his ability to fix just about anything. He was always available when needed and would step back to cheer on the sidelines when it was time for his wife (they had 60+ years together), children and grandchildren to shine. He will be sorely missed by family, friends and country.  If you would like to know more about this exemplary man go to

In lieu of gifts or flowers please help by making a contribution in Pete‘s name to Alzheimer’s Disease Research.
